O AGOSTO

Sim. Estou a falar a sério. Casinos, gente! CASINOS! Estou a fugir do assunto. E lá estávamos nós a comer comida chinesa!
Conseguimos! Não sei como. Ah, já me lembro!

Sim. Foi verdade. Vimos o Green Park, o Buckingham Palace, o London Eye, o Big Ben, a plataforma 9 3/4 do Harry Potter, fomos à Picadilly Circus… e é isto!

EN
THE AUGUST

Hello pessoaaaas! Long time since I don't put anything new on the blog, and for several good reasons I'll tell you now. This summer really could not give much to blog. However, I had the opportunity to know many cultures, many places and take lots of pictures!
First of all, I went on vacation with family. It was a long car drive, but that allowed us to enjoy the scenery that sometimes we let get away. It was little time in each place, but I brought a little bit of each place with me! I ran the great city of Barcelona (Spain), I spent a few nights at a service station in France (I do not know where exactly), I ate a lot of spaghetti and lasagna and was bitten by mosquitoes in Venice (Italy), I dipped in the warm water of Pomposa (Italy) and when we came back: new adventures. I saw fire fireworks, I laughed, cried, screamed, sang and loved every point I visited. The night was always beautiful behind the melody of a wonderful acoustic guitar and our voices sounded with the wind. We were lucky with the weather, thankfully! Back to home, another new adventure. But this time, was not vacation. Or maybe a little!
I was invited to participate in a kind of exchange with my university, the University of Saint Joseph (Macau) and the Beijing Film Academy (Beijing)! Next stop: MACAU!
Woow, first time in the great Asian Continent that, to me, was completely unknown !! Ready and ... suitcase boarding! Were almost three days to travel there! We left on a Tuesday night, me and two colleagues from Porto to Lisbon by car. A night of lost sleep, but only the first night. Wednesday morning we travelled to the town of Harry Potter: London, where we had to stop. After a few hours in the airport trying to put us in a comfortable hard bench, that same day in the evening we caught the next plane, this time with two floors. What a crazy thing, we thought! We watched movies, talked in chat in the plane (just nonsense), we slept (or not), we grumbled for not sleeping and ... most important! Eating chiclet during takeoff and landing !! Never missed! 12 hours of an intense travelling!! For those who doesn't know, in Macau is more seven hours than Portugal. So we got there Thursday at 1pm! First impression:
THAT HEAT, my god! Every day was about a 30 degrees (tolerates up), but with 70% / 80% humidity (GOD!!!). It was not very pleasant for those who are not used! Basically, we went out to the street and we went back to the room to take another shower. You know how it is, don't you? Well, we didn't know! What do you think about Macau ?? I did not think anything special, but a mix of Portuguese and Chinese culture. In fact, nobody speaks portuguese anymore, unfortunately. But the streets were written in Portuguese and Chinese. I found it really beautiful !! But ahead ... Macau is more kind LAS VEGAS! Yes.'m Serious. Casinos, folks! CASINOS! No, I did not win anything because I'm not a lucky girl. I Bet 2 euros and they did not want to leave. But casinos are beautiful !! Apart from that, the streets are full of color and lights flashing. You see ... like amusement park ???? Yes, that's Macau !! You will see in the photos !!! I'm evade the issue. Well, we combined them with the group from Beijing Film Academy and the group of University of Macau. The goal was to make a film in 72 hours! It was very interesting to join such a different cultures and meet these two universities. The hardest part was eating with chopsticks !!! Oh god, now worth. First, I barely ate because, you know. But I stand it all the time and ate like a real chinese woman! I tried everything and anything. Some things were really good. Others, I didn't even ask how they could eat that! If I learned to speak Chinese ?? ... hmm ... Unfortunately no! One thing or another got a little in my head. A half words slightly crooked and uncertain. It's true. It's complicated !! I can not associate the words to anything I could remember! But they learned Portuguese very quickly, it's amazing. We were/are a fantastic group. One more timid, another more glutton, another stranger, another disappears from time to time, each with its characteristics that we can already distinguish. It was a week in a new world, a new continent, a new culture! And there were we, eating Chinese food! Oh, not to forget the tea !! Whenever we entered a restaurant they always gave us tea. Cultural differences! Last day in Macau:
I will tell you why this day was intense, complicated, exasperating and until now I laugh a bit of it! We were going to catch the plane at 11.15pm in Hong Kong. We had to go from Macau to Hong Kong by ferryboat. What went wrong ?? Well, nothing special. I mean, at the time was a tricky thing because we risked of not catching the plane, or the boat. Basically, imagine today is the departure day and we forgot to buy the ticket for the boat a couple of days before. In few words, we ran the risk of having no place in the boat. Like I said, nothing special don't you think ?? Well, we had lunch and ... (this was on a Saturday just to contextualize). We had lunch and decided to take a taxi to go buy the ticket. Do you know how long it took us to catch a taxi ?? I think it was like an hour or an hour and a half ... First, the taxi drivers are not very fond of foreigners. Or maybe our charm was down that day! Second, the queues for taxis are HUGE! And when I say it is HUGE it's really HUGE! As the word says! We went from one side to the other waiting for a Chinese friendly give us hope to have the ticket in time! We made it! I don't know how. Ah, I remember! We caught a small queue for taxis. Luck or charm ?? I don't know! There we bought the ticket and we were lucky to return to blessed Portuguese lands.
BUT ... It's not over! We did scale back in London (England).
This time we got there at 5am and the next plane was at 3.20pm. My traveling companions had an idea there:
"How about we go to London?"
One of the subjects of my photographs will this so be attempt:
THEME: "London in FIVEhours"

Yes. In 5 hours we saw the five most important places in London! I went already to London a long time ago, so I needed to revive the memory, and my colleagues did never go. We made us tourists and we took the subway with a daily ticket !! London in the early morning is lovely, I must say. The streets and the subway empty, the sunrise light hitting the buildings, the gates closed, the fresh morning air ... Oh, and I met some animal friends! When we went to Green Park I had the pleasure of photographing squirrels! Yes, they pretty much did pose for the photo! It was beautiful I ran with the machine behind those animals that occasionally looked at me and almost smiled. My only problem is that I never tire of photographing these situations and then people who are with me are a little waiting. But my colleagues had patience to stay there waiting for me! Returning to the main point. London in five hours. Yes. It was true. We saw the Green Park, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Big Ben, platform 9 3/4 from Harry Potter, we went to Picadilly Circus ... and this is it! After that finally returning to Portugal. It's always good to come back home and it was even better to finish this program with a good job, new experiences, new knowledge and new friendships.
